The kerala Story, is the story true?
Recently a flim called "The Kerala Story" was released, which is being discused a lot. In this film, it is shown how a secret plot was underway to forcefully convert innocent women to Islam and then they are being sent to ISIS.
According to this film and the director, this has been done to approximately 32,000 girls who are now buried in the desert of Syria and Yemen, is this true?

Additionally another propaganda technique as told by Hitler's propaganda minister, Joseph Gobbels, he said that repetition is also very important here. Keep repeating this big lie again and again, repeat this lie so many times that people will eventually come to conclusion that it is true. By doing this people become more convienced.
A third technique is said to be the Half - Truth, sometimes add in some truth in your speeches as nowadays some people can easily indentify big liars. When someone says that no one can lie so outrageously all the time, someone might counter that by showing that the speaker is totally fraud. For those who are not convienced by the big lies, half truth is supposed to convience them.
Why am I mentioning this technique because in this article you will read that how these techniques have been used to mislead people.

The keral Story flim's director Sudipto Sen was asked that which true incidents inspired this flim. He said many things, he first said that, in 2010 Krala's former CM, Oomman Chandy gave statement in Kerala's assembly that over 2500 women to Islam. Then he said that former CM of Kerala, V. S. Achunthanadan had once said that Kerala is going to become an Islamic state in the next 20 years.
In the teaser of the flim, it has shown that a girl says that she is Fatima and she is imprisoned in Afghanistan's jail, if you check this these is also right these are the perfect examples of half truth, most people read only the headline they don't go in depth.
Let's talk about the first article, this article was published in India Today in 2012 Kerala's first CM Oommen Chandy informed the state legislature that from 2006 to 2012 over 2600 women converted to Islam. The main thing is that did he ever use the term "forced conversion"? He said that they will not allow any forced conversion in thier state and neither will they tolerate hate campaigns against Muslims with accusation of Love Zihad. Was it mentioned anywhere that converted womens are joining ISIS, not at al.
In the interview of former CM V.S. Achuthanandan, he was the CM of Kerala from 2006 to 2011, this old video which is being circulated in the recent times was uploaded by Sunshine Picstues, the same company which made the film "The Kerala Story". First of all they have messed with the English Subtitles, the words spoken by him and the subtitles appearing on the video are not same. Secondly, here V.S. Achuthanandan here was against PFI which was influencing youths of other relegion and converting them by giving money to marry Muslim women, even here he didn't mention about ISIS. It's been 13 years since this statement, Kerala is still a safe and secular state as it was 13 years ago.
Now let's see the next article from June 2021, this article talks about 4 women who got married to Muslim men and moved to Afghanistan to join the Islamic State of Khorasan Province between 2016 and 2018. Thier husband died by various attack, thier names are Nimisha Alias Fathima Isa, Sonia Sebastian Alias Aysha, Merrin Jacob Alias Mariyam, and Raffela. If we look through the list of NIS, the list of the 20 most wanted Indians in Islamic state, we will see those four names of those women are included addtionally, there are 2 more women, Ajmala and Shamasia. Thier husband were cousins, they were also in the list. Out of these 6 women 3 were already Muslim and 2 converted from christanity and only one women has converted from Hindu to Islam, her name was Nimisha Nair. Was Nimisha Nair trapped by a Muslim man in case of Love Jihad? For this let's see who is the husband of Nimisha Nair, it's Eeza, he is a man who converted to Islam from Christanity, his old name was Bexon Vincent, his brother Bestin also converted from christanity to Islam and he was the husband among one of those 4 womens so, all those 4 husband and 4 wives were all converted and brainwashed. Recently the goverment of India has rejected them from coming to India, you can watch thier interviews with Nimisha, Sonia and Raffela in Stratnews Global channel on you tube where you watch thier way of talking and thier behaviour.
After you have watched the interview you may have observed that these women are still very much radicalized and brainwashed on the other side the main charecter of the film has been shown evoking for sympathy, the helplessness and innocence is shown in the film. Here I want your opinion, would you have sympathy for these women in real life? Strategic News Global report tells us that the 20 people mentioned in the 2016 NIA chargesheet, they were very much interconnected to each other. 17 of them came from a single district, Kasaragod of Kerala. According to report of Hindustan times of 2020, some people later joined so, in total there were 22 people from Kasargod. In the article of India Today of 2016 states that the trend shows that not only single youth are joining ISIS, even thier whole family are joining ISIS. It also includes that most of the recruits were from the state Maharastra, Telengana and Andhra pradesh not from Kerala.
The film said that this has already happend to 32000 women in kerala, let's see the statics. Vladimir Voronkov the undersecretary of the United Nation's Office of Counter Terrorism, he said that from 110 countries arround 40,000 foreign terrorist went to Syria and Iraq tojoin the conflict.
According to the report of ICSR of King's College, London, that 41.490 people from 80 countries were under ISIS. We can arrive at an estimate that there are arround 40k to 41k peoples who have gone to join ISIS from all over the world, so how many are Indians?
According to the reports of America's published Country report in 2020, it stated that NIA had investigated 34 cases of terrorism and arrested 160 people related to ISIS in India.
Let's see another source for double checking, Observer research Foundation published a paper in October 2019 it stated that the southern state of Kerala has been found to have the highest number of pro - IS case in all India, with about 40 of the 180 to 200 cases, these 200 people includes not only the ones who left India to join ISIS but also the people who have spread the propganda of ISIS in India through internet.
Let's look at the third source, from the report of NDTV of 2019, it has stated that 1515 have been arrested.These were the case of whole India, now the question arises that how many cases were from Kerala? From the cases of 180 to 200 cases, only 40 cases are said to be from Kerala. However this number do not tell us how many people have actually joined ISIS.
The number of people left India to join ISIS is revealed by the report of US Department of State report, it states that there were around 66 known Indian - origin fighters.
Strat News Global report of 2018 also gave close figure to 60, so both the numbers are quite close.Out of these 60, the numbers of women were 13, out of which only 6 women were from Kerala.

Out of these 6 womens 3 womens were converted from other relegion, out of these 3 two were Christan and only one women was Hindu, but the flim has shown that these has happened to 32000 women but by cross checking it has been found that only 3 women were the victim but that also not in the manner that is being shown in the film, this is the "Big Lie", but the people will belive it because the movie states that it has happened to 32,000 women so it cannot be a lie. Now you may say that may be it a 32,000 or 3, the story is same, what is the problem?
Well, there are many problems, if the film would have stated 3 women intead of 32,000 women the the film would not have been in the spotlight. Saying that there is a secret love jihad conspiracy going on here to forcefully convert girls to Islam and sending them to ISIS and by this conspiracy only three women have suffered, so it is a individual case there is no conspiracy.
Secondly, to generalize and exxaggerate things to this level is simply stupid, if this similar thing is related to other events then you would say that it it a nonsense.
Let's take a example, over the last few months ther has been case of drunk man urinating on female passengers in business class of Air India flight, another peeing incidents on Air India, drunk man urinates on woman passangr's blanket and a drunk student urinates on business class passenger on New York - Delhi flight. Immagine that countries like America and Japan makes a flim about this called "The India Story" and the flims shows that how Indians always urinate on other passengers in airplanes and that also 32,000 incidents has already happen, how will you feel after you came to know about this? You would probably say that that the flim maker is trying to defame the country, on the other hand the flim maker would say that 32,000 was exagerated number but it happened thrice so making flim on this is justified, how would be your reaction? Similarly, the entire state of Kerala is being defamed for individual cases.
When the director of the film was asked about the number mentionined in the film 32,000, he evaded the question. While talking to Alt news, he said that only after the release of the film he would share his data.
He told The Quint that it will not make any difference by asking question, it is very cliched.
when the film was screened in JNU, he said that 32,000 was an arbitrary number. When the matter reached the court, then he removed 32,000 from the description of the film replacing with 3. If this story was shown without lies and propaganda then this story would have been worth watching.
Everyperson who is brainwashed and recruited in ISIS is a potential threat,but how big is this problem in India? If you compare this with the other countries you will find it shocking that 2500 people from Russia, 1700 people in from France, 760 people from Germany an equal number from the UK. The population of all these countries is much less than India, but the number of people who fell victim to ISIS is much higher in these countries. India is 3rd largest population of Muslim community, but the recrits are less when compared to ISIS recruits from the other countries.
Some people truly enjoy watching a state of thier own country being defamed based on lies.
The ORF report held that why did so few Muslims from India join ISIS? There were many factors behind it, first the superb response of the India Agencies, very few of you may know about Opration Pigeon, our agencies like NIA and IB carried out a mission in which they identified 350 vulnerable Malayali Youth and launched a silent but strategic de- radcalisation to prevent IS recruitment in the state. A great job was done by our officers but it's shameful that our PM, in his election speches instead of talking about good work by our agencies he promoted this flim of lies.
Another event of 2014 when Indian Forces got back 46 nurses from ISIS, which is shown in the film Tiger Zinda Hai. If PM Modi wanted, he could have told people about this inspirational story but he promoted a propaganda flim.
The second reason as claimed by former diplomat Talmiz Ahamed, is India's syncretic culture and tradtion, the unity in diversity in India. Muslim live harmoniously with Hindu and Christans in India and for that they rejected extreme ideologies.
In 2015 it was found that only 29 Indians has joined ISIS, a report stated that ISIS itself considered Indian recruits to be inferior as they belived that the Islam practised in India is a soft version, liberal version of Islam.
Third, many Muslim clerics have also played a positive role here. In March 2009, Darul Uloom Deoban issued a fatwa declaring India as Dar al - Amen. A country where millitant Jihad is prohibhted.
Similarly, in 2015 a joint fatwa was issued by 70,000 Indian Muslim scholars against ISIS, the Taliban, al - Qaeda and other terror groups.
The kerala story here is something to be proud of, compared to the rest of the world how only few Muslims from India has joined ISIS. Kerala is a living example of Unity and Diversity people of different relegion live togather peacefully.
This is the only reason why Kerala is the number one state across many indicators, top in education, top in human development index and in health. But then our politician use these fake stories to defame Kerala.
In February this year (2023), when Home Minister Amit Shah was campaigning for the election, he said that Kerala is right next to Karnataka heavily implying on how dangerous kerala is. Maligning Kerala is not only propaganda in this flim another big lie is love jihad. In the flim, it is shown that there are forceful relegious conversions.
If one proof is not enough, look at the other. The Union Home Ministry said the same in 2020. The ministry of Hom Affairs G Kishan Reddy told the Lok Sabha in a written reply that no case of Love Jihad has been reported by any central agency.
This conspiracy theory of Love Jihad is a big lie is told to you using diffrent angles. Politicians uses them in thier sppeches and you get these WhatsApp forwards from WhatsApp university talking about Love Jihad. The propaganda news channels use Love Jihad as news this big lie is repeated so many times that peiple begin to think that there must be some truth in it.
The whole concept of Love Jihad is not only used to defame Muslims, but the concept also goes against womens. Think about it, people who believe that a woman can be easily manipulated by a man, what kind of people are they? Are women cattle? Woman do not have brain? Anyone can come and say anything and women will meekly follow around like cattle. Weather it's a Hindu woman, a Muslim woman, a christan woman or a woman of any other relegion. All woman should come togather to tell thier relgious leaders to mind thier own business and tell them we have got brains. If a man tries to forcefully convert a woman, she can go to police. The law states that if someone tries to forcefully convert another person, he will go to jail.
But the question is, how many peopleare being converted in India? Sometimes some Christan missionaries or these Hindu priest or a Muslim clerics become a little overactive in thier preaching and balance shifts a bit.
Like this 2016 news article, where the leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad said that thier oganization has converted 750,000 people back to Hinduism but if these relegious leaders from diffrent relegion don't interfere, and people want to convert of thier own will, then you get to see a balance.
Look at the April 2021 report, 506 people registered that they want to change thier relegion with the Kerala goverment. 47% of these people converted from Christanity or Islam to Hinduism. So, it's not like we are seeing more conversion to one religion.
According to survey by the Pew Research Center of 2021 showed the same thing. More than 30,000 people were surveyed and it was found that only 0.7% of people left Hinduism and adopted other relegions. 0.85 of people left other religions and adopted Hinduism. We need to understand that merely for some political power, a very dirty game is being played here. Big lies are being propagated, conspiracy theories are being developed so that Hindus, Muslims and Christans can be provked into fighting each other. Some political parties benefit a lot if people are filled with hatred for people from other relegions.
In the beginning, it was only whatsApp forwards, the the propaganda enabiling media started doing this and now, propaganda flims are being made to mislead people. 100 years ago, this used to happen during Hitler's rule as well, many propganda flims were made like the Triumph of The Will, The Traitor, Robert and Bertram, The Eternal Jaw and so many which distorted history of their own will, defamed Jews and glorified German Aryans. Such big lies were propagted in those flims, they were repeated to convince people. In the greed foer power and money these people are trying to break the country from inside out. They who spread so much vile and hared shoulf remember one thing, it is posiiible that they be successful in spreading fear, voilence and hatred. But they need too rememeber that this country has gone though a lot. Whenever any power tried to divide the country the people of the country came togather and bounced back.
